I started in the pharmaceutical sector at the end of 1960. I helped to distribute the drug store retail drug prices in my town and I did the same in the largest hospital in Chicago. I thought it was in another hospital and then began "doing" it on my own when I opened my retail store in 1983. I read the leaflet and producer, I followed the rules as they were ordered - and I noticed that many people have problems with the "recommended dose had. Sometimes one dose, and sometimes usedHad to be changed. In any case, the recommended dose was not always the right place - was often dangerously wrong.

I do not know what I know about all the problems only with prescription drugs. I think assuming that patients were hypersensitive, or just bad luck. I do not often too much about it - until I realize that Dr. Jay Cohen and his "The trial against the pharmaceutical companies did." His book is called shocking "dose OVER" and describes in detail the dangers of good actiondrug manufacturer's package insert prescribing.

This is an opener eyes and book bothers me. How can we have this urgent desire to have taken place in the bottom line above decent health care? There are some great things happen in medicine - in the world. But I think all the best, quick to hang in a wrong philosophy insists, be reversed, that profits than anything else Trump. It 's time for a change and change Dr. Cohen is part of the process. II promise to do my part to change. One is to avoid potential problems (for example, Dr. Cohen has done) and another is to encourage people to be thinking about problems (which is my goal). Please keep a copy of this book. Read it and then think about what it really means. If we reach a critical mass of change happen. You can bank on it! (Pun intended)

"Over Dose: The Case Against the Drug Companies: Prescription Drugs, Side Effects, and Your Health" Overview

In late 1999, a headline in the New York Times read "Too Much of Good Thing? Doctor Challenges Drug Manual." The article described Dr. Jay S. Cohen's new report maintaining that the recommended doses in the Physicians' Desk Reference are too high for many people and are causing a slew of unnecessary adverse reactions, "ranging from dizziness and nausea all the way to death."

Drug reactions in hospitals are among the nation's leading causes of death, killing more than one hundred thousand Americans every year. What's more, the "side effect epidemic" causes many people-as high as 50 percent of those on blood-pressure medication-to discontinue treatment.

The problem, reports Dr. Cohen in this vital book, stems not only from poor research on the part of the drug companies, but from a deliberate effort to create easy, one-size-fits-all dosages that both appeal to doctors and produce artificially inflated effectiveness statistics.

In Over Dose, Dr. Cohen does more than expose drug company misdeeds-he shows consumers exactly how to monitor and control their own drug intake. He offers practical information on the potential dangers and safe uses of the nation's bestselling drugs, including Prozac, Claritin, Viagra, Lipitor, and a wide range of estrogen-replacement, anti-inflammatory, and blood-pressure medications.

Overdose will Wake You Up to the Truth about MEDS! - Bohdan Kot - Washington, D.C.
The aphorism is the cure worse than the disease, is a motto about "Over Dose". Drug Company policy rake in billions, while harming the very patients they are meant to help. Dr. Jay S. Cohen, opens more cans of worms like a fishing hook was in his life. The smoking gun is terrible - America is overmedicated.

Dr. Cohen is not anti-drug, which is committed to wise use of powerful drugs. His mantra is "start low, go slow." Thewell researched (53 pages bibliography) is able to discover the defects of the pharmaceutical companies and their negative impact on the public - 46% of Americans take at least one recipe a day. Cohen shows how pharmaceutical companies' one-size-fits-all dosage is literally killing people. Approximately 300 people die each day from a drug reaction. The terrible things keep closer. Author's case against the drug companies convincing.

Dr. Cohen's writing is precisebleak. But the real sad part of this tragedy, as may be avoidable. Dr. Cohen is equally effective in providing realistic solutions. It clearly states: "My goal in writing" Over Dose "will offer, with the consent of the unacceptable condition of the drug today ... How to reduce risk and to begin to end the epidemic side effect". "Over Dose" is a must, you can change the setting, life for the better and maybe save.

Everyone should read this book! - -
Finally, someone has to print an accurate and objective of what the manufacturing industry precede drug profits ahead of patient benefit and safety of the site. Those who take prescription drugs should read this book. Maybe it's a bit 'too technical for people in places not in the health professions, but there are a lot of good information and suggestions to make this a very important reference work for consumer-oriented patients.
I am a doctoral level clinicalPharmacist, and I agreed with most everything that Dr. Cohen has written, and recommend this book. This should be required reading for every medical practitioner, doctors, pharmacists and nurses in the country. medical schools should be read in its curriculum for all our doctors-to-be, before they begin to take its course and clinical pharmacology training.
